I liked Dunn, more later than back in the early 1980s. I think I abstained from voting on defunding BJPCA when it came up at the SBC. I suppose he was in an impossible situation relative to the CR people but his formal position on an advisory or some group with American's United was a huge strategic mistake that hurt mods. His position on abortion was easily and often exploited by cons as well. See BP's obit piece, .

It's opinion, but the SBC went full bore into the culture wars after ERLC was created and Land hired. Near total loss. Religious liberty issues went to the back of the bus and only recently have moved up.
Of all the moves caused by the CR, dropping BJCPA was the least profitable, IMO. We aren't getting $3-4 million worth out of the ERLC.
