From Joseph Patrick...aka Gerry Milligan
As I was trying to understand what I saw in Jerusalem at a Messianic congregation I came upon the following from Wikipedia, "Supersessionism (replacement theology), which implies or outright states that Christianity has superseded Judaism, and that the Mosaic Covenant of the Hebrew Bible has been superseded by the New Covenant of Jesus, wherein salvation is brought about by the grace of God, and not by obedience to the Torah.[109] This is generally complemented with the concept of God having transferred the status of "God's people" from the Jews to the Christian Church."
It goes on to say that among evangelicals this has been reversing ever since the holocaust. I get the impression that the corporate guilt arising from the holocaust is responsible for this change. In fact I met a Southern Baptist missionary in Israel who believed that all Jews were going to heaven. Can some of you Biblical scholars enlighten me?
