I had in mind the timeless doctrinal components that those who identify as Christian (deity of Christ, Trinity and a few other non-negotiable and non-reducible doctrines) have maintained over the centuries rather than the behavior of those who call themselves Christian. The lesson abstract didn't cover that. Perhaps the author is an orthodox Christian, though non-traditional in other ways.
When the question, "Who was Jesus?" Is asked, I understand that there are many options for an answer. When the question, "Who is Jesus?" Is asked, it looks to me like such demands an answer that is either consistent with historical Christian teaching or one that departs from it.
Timothy affirmed the Apostles Creed but maintained a stance that put more emphasis on behavior than beliefs. Fine, though I may offer that the former is more important being the source of the latter.
Like I said, we only had the lesson promos. Maybe the author covered all the bases. I'm curious, based on what I read.
