Ed, yes a voting member of the Iowa annual conference contended that racism basically doesn't exist in Iowa anymore He also denied the existence of sexism. He was speaking to resolutions that we were seeking to pass during our Annual Conference. I was frankly flabbergasted.

(Just for sake of translation of terminology. The annual conference does not have delegates or messengers, it has members. Ordained clergy are permanent members because the conference is where our church membership is held and not in the local church. The lay members are elected annually by their respective charge conferences.)
