CEO pay was 40 times the average worker in the 60's, Four years ago it was181/1. Today it is 257/1. According to the writer Oliver Thomas a minister and an attorney, the ratio is rapidly approaching that of the 1% in 18th century France just before the revolution.

Thomas quotes the book of James on salaries. James did not approve of the wage disparity in Jerusalem and warned the rich that they have just been making themselves fat for the day of slaughter.

For me, this contributes to the horror of these times.

Another contributor, the immigration of the children crisis. The USA is not the only country overrun w/children from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. The children are also fleeing to Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Belize. Jesus said, "suffer the little children to come unto me." Can the US help make the world a better place by returning these children to nations where rape and murder are on the daily menu for the children.

I keep hearing well-meaning Christians say, "They have to go back because their coming was against the law." I wonder just how many of our ancestors arrived legally. Georgia certainly began with former prisoners no one wanted elsewhere. The New England colonies were founded by separatists fleeing England. Oh, and we took all those Mariel Boat-Lift people without papers since the Cuban community in South Florida wanted us to do it, and they didn't have papers as a whole. There are many of these children who already have parents or other family in the states. Oh, wait, they don't have papers either. As one writer put it, "We can't put illegal children with their illegal parents. That would be wrong." My question is, "Why?"

Well put, Dave. My own grandmother's parents skirted the immigration laws by coming from Ireland to the US by stopping in Canada first.
