Church groups have been busy lately. The other day there were people handing out Gideons New Testaments with a book marker inviting me to their church when I was changing buses on my way home from shopping. Last night my employer had a scripture portion handed out by someone from the Pocket Testament League. What does anyone know about this organizatioion??????

Never heard of them. They do have a web page. They oddly refer to the Bible as, "the living Word of God." I'd refer to Jesus as the living Word of God rather than the Bible.

Interesting, founded by a British teenage girl (from the Cadbury family)...
When I first saw "ptl.org" I thought "Praise the Lord" and had Bakker flashbacks.

Actually the last couple of Gideon NTs I've seen were NKJV, not KJV. The Gospel of John Edna referred to is probably ESV.

The Gidion's Testament was an ESV. One thing that was interesting is that John 3:16 is translated into several languages in the beginning of the book. A young man noticed the Arabic and asked what I was reading. This was in a neighborhood with many immigrants, including a lot of Somalis.
