Fremont (and many other churches hereabouts) canceled services for tomorrow. Here's a new hymn on the subject. It was actually written three or four weeks ago in anticipation of the Polar Vortex, but it will do for tomorrow in King County. Rest of you can save it for next year.

From Gerry Milligan...it is a little after 11:00 am in Portland, OR and I am singing and observing this tune here at my home. At my age I am not confident and competent enough to attempt driving to church.

Seems like our blizzards this winter have come on Saturdays, for the most part, at least the bigger snowfalls have. The "polar vortex" was a Wednesday-Thursday event, requiring the cancellation of school for two days when the low was -24 and the high on Thursday crested at -13. Yesterday afternoon we got about 2 inches, but the temperature is a balmy 29. We're supposed to be in for 6 inches tonight.
