A co-defendant calls the suit "extortion." Pressler vehemently denies the accusations. There is a single accuser. The filing is rather bizarre, including references to the CR (Patterson is another co-defendant, as is SWBTS).

Ed: Is any one here acquainted with The Texas Monitor ? The story to me, reads like "yellow Journalism".

Ed, I’m not familiar with much of any of the press in Texas. And, obviously, until any legal action goes forward all we know are that there are acusations and a lawsuit going forward. Time will tell.

Sure, but the denials of a co-defendant aren’t exactly unbiased or unexpected. I’d expect all the defendants to deny something happened wether it did or did not. So, it doesn’t prove much one way or another.

I’d agree that references to the Takeover in the suit seems odd. Has anyone seen this publicized by anyone else?

I live in Texas, but had never heard of The Texas Monitor before today. (That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it, though.) The staff do seem to have legit credentials, but that doesn't necessarily keep them from being "yellow". The lawsuit itself sounds pretty convoluted.

Here is the Lawsuit itself. Very detailed/graphic. I do not understand why the theological discussion is in it.

I add this because I feel it should be dug into more than just discussing the credibility of the news sources involved.

Ed: In my book the #1 criteria is the credibility of whomever does the digging and reporting.
