I think the article is "spot on." What troubles me is the posturing by Republicans when the President is giving them bones aplenty and simply asking them to cooperate in producing constructive legislation.
It is a stand off and merits Term Limits for the Legislative Branch of government in my view.
The worst result is more lying and doing the opposite of what is promised than I have ever seen. They spilled the beans when Romney revealed his small tax payments and massive offshore bank accounts. In addition, he has been a corporate raider who has helped defraud investors and send more jobs offshore than any other candidate. I suspect this will be a focus when the campaign gets fully underway from the Democrats.
One thing I have noticed: when Republicans have nothing to debate or add, they simply go to the massive criticism mode they are now in. If the American voters are stupid enough not to see through it, they are more than dumb. The massive coverage by the media these days makes such things more difficult to hide.
We will see as the primaries end and straight up campaigning begins. In NC, Republicans have defunded education and public mental health. Where this state was a front runner in good use of tax money, we are now in a destruction mode. We have a marriage amendment on the ballot for May and, if it is defeated, I think we will see a collapse of what is left of Republican posturing that they are somehow helping their constituents.
