Think about the difference in America had the recount in Florida put Gore in the White House!

He had one of the most bitter disappointments ever given a presidential candidate. If you saw the movie about it done by HBO, it is an eye-opener! Add to that the documentary about how the voting machines used had a hidden file which allowed anyone to alter the final counts in any way they pleased!

This is NOT conjecture, but tellling the "story behind the story."

I'm not really sure we have a true and honest democracy over the last 30 years!

I AM SURE we have a bought Congress and manipulation to the max by those not officially elected to office.

The docudrama showed the play between the Secretary of State in Florida who dictated an end to the count with the backing of the Supreme Court.

Like the SBC change, the power of appointment has become crucial to interpretation of the Constitution and that is often the biggest impetus to elect the "right" President when openings are coming up on the Court!

Our Founding Fathers would "surely" love that one!

Lady Justice seems to no longer wear a blindfold and the scales could be "fixed."

But more likely Jeb Bush woulda been the Prez in 2004 and we would notta been in Iraq. I woulda loved to have seen Richard Marius as Gore's speechwriter. He knew the underbelly of Pressler bout as well as Moyers and woulda given the world of Richard Land and Rove fits. That woulda been one grand aspect of a Gore Presidency.
But part of the Jewish cabal at New Republic had blocked Marius and he is now deceased.

I think we are more than "speculative" to say what any person would or would not do had he been President.

All things Presidential stay in flux. What I thought Obama would do to help small businesses has not materialized. It took him 3 years to withdraw troops from Iraq when he promised immediate withdrawal.

The problem with out purposely designed warring branches of government means the President has limited powers and depends on Congress to be helpful. In my view, as complex a America is and as diverse---no President will please everyone and that is the price of freedom and democracy.

Bush used more Executive Orders than anyone in recent administrations. The most egregious one was doubling the Statute of Limitations before the American public has access to things stamped "National Security." He certainly had many such stamps placed on his activities. That takes us further and further away from a transparent govenment before the governed!

The real problem with Americans is how fickle we are---as the recent surveys on Primary votes clearly shows. Further, we are prone to forget important things far too quickly and move on in ignorance of past activities we abhored. Maybe, we "just be crazy."
