One More Time

Found out over the Holidays GHS, Gaffney, won the state championship the night JFK was assassinated in 1963. Beat Lancaster in an away game 44-0. GHS has a perfect season again this year and should do better than Auburn, Ga Tech and Clemson in state finals this coming weekend.

How that fits in Douthat's scenario, I don't know

May take it up with Curtis Freemana and Tim Tyson at some point, for my own version of Anne Beattie's treatise on Pat Nixon.

But I have thrown too much together in my ruminations here.

For this thread, the Douthat piece speaks for itself.

Oh, found this entirely fascinating, registered with me this fall for the first time.

MLKing went to the funeral cortege in D.C. alone and strode the crowd along the way anonymously. A haunting vision indeed.
