In theory, you are supposed to buy insurance to take care of your property damage because those wonderful corporations that hire you pay you enough to afford the exhorbatant, profiteering rates because everyone who is willing to work has a job, right? So there is no need for FEMA because you are being taken care of by your fair, equitable, business employer who has put yours and your family's needs above their profit motive. You should also be paid enough to take care of the higher property taxes you will have to pay because the local governments will be responsible for taking care of the cleanup and repairing the infrastructure. That way, when trucks, trains and planes need to roll to carry the goods produced by those corporate entities who are loopholed out of paying taxes, they can get going in a hurry to keep the profits rolling in so that your corporate employer can write your paycheck.
That's Cantor's view in a nutshell. Of course, his "principles" will go out the window when he is either defeated or leaves Congress. Wanna bet he continues to collect the pension?
