Be aware that George Bush DOUBLED the years of secrecy on "national security matters" by Executive Order his first year in office.
Anyone wanting an insider view of his Administration is wise to secure "Worse Than Watergate" by John Dean. It is not only incisive, but annotated from one end to the other over the political and dictatorial approach to the Presidency under Bush.
Generally, it has been called an "Imperial Presidency" with more Executive Orders than ever before. This means that, where the Kennedy information will be available at the end of my lifetime for public consumption, anything from Reagan forward will have a doubling of years for investigation. Thus, putting most matters labeled "national security" beyond the reach of the interest span of most citizen participants.
Truth ALWAYS comes out in the end, BUT will it be too late to correct anything of importance with government?????
Our freedom has heretofore been protected by a Free Press and as much disclosure as possible. Regan got a free pass on Iran-Contra for reasons I don't fully understand. Bush pretty much insured that pass will last a lifetime now. If historians are still digging up stuff on Washington and Jefferson, you can rest assured it will come to the surface. Sadly, by that time most citizens will consider it "historical" rather than a current dirty deed needing rectification.
