Which Way Egypt?

I'm pleased to see democratic action remove a despot. But I am concerned what the next government will be like in Egypt. We all remember what has happened in Iran far too well.

Any thoughts on where things may go?

Somewhat a side issue, but I hope the Egyptians will welcome Gazan Palestinians and not support the continuing blockade. Gazans are probably the most persecuted population in the world.

Democracy or acceptable substitute (hopefully not a military led government) is my hope. Swiss banks are holding some of Muburak's estimated $60-70B of mostly confiscated cash (release to the Egyptian government or people would really help).

My advice to Obama, is to stay out of it. It is their governmnet.

I’m glad that the Egyptian people are realizing what they at least consider freedom, though it remains to be seen if and how their hopes are eventually dashed, since Jeffersonian democracy and Islamic democracy are not the same…anywhere. Obamessiah spent a couple weeks extolling the virtues of popular revolt and aiding and abetting the one in Egypt, though it’s doubtful that anyone paid much attention to him.
