"alarmist projections" are made to PREVENT THE projection from coming true.

The cigarette/cancer connection "alarmist projections" were all wrong -- somebody noticed and did something about it. Strangely, the cigarette/cancer denialists are still griping about all those wrong "alarmist projections"

The ozone layer protectionists alarmist projections were all wrong -- somebody took note and did some things to prevent the catastropic ozone layer destruction. Strange, but there are probably still some ozone layer denialists pointing out all those wrong "alarmist projections"

Strange, i can find nobody nowhere who wants to debate my Global Warming facts.

BTW, Oklahoma did set a new record low of -31°F a couple nights ago. The high every day the week 13-19 Feb 2011 will likely be above 60°. The old record low as -27°F back in 1908 and 1930. The climate in Oklahoma for feburary is a high of 50°F and a low of 28°F (well, that is the long term average). so [-49 + (+10)7]/8 = 21/8 = +2.6 The average temperature offset of the 8 days discussed above is +2.6°F. In this small sample (I picked 8 days that I wanted) we can see Oklahoma Warming.

And my figure of +2.6 offset is just as good as - 49 offset for one day. What matters is not one days reading in one place; what matters is 100s of readings

Sorry sir, but I cannot help you get your foot out of your mouth this time. The -31°F I showed in the last post combined with the +60 earch day next week SHOWS PROOF POSITIVE that Global Warming is oclcuring in Oklahoma. And I have 8 data points to your one. Now, IF one day it only gets up to 58 in Enid - then the number lowers, but still shows Global Warming.

The article is fairly good. I've been trying to some demonaters representing how many total cases there are. the larger the denominator is, the lower the numerator gets 1/100 < 1/4 < 1/3 -- the numerator is the same (1) but the largerthe denominator, the less the total nubmer is. People who flunked out of the thrid grade and did not filnish school -- they missed out on this "fraction" lore: 'numerators & denominators'.

Some people foget the 'common denominator' rules. For example 2+2 = 4 BUT only if both twos (numerators) are talking about THE SAME THING (in other words, have the same denominator. (Note 'denominator' stuff is related very closely to "denomination". 2$ + 2¢ IS NOT EQUAL TO 4 of anything -maybe 2 coins, if you happen to have some $1 coins. Then you h 2 coins + 2 coins = 4 coins. But otherwise 2$ + 2¢ = $2.02 or 20¢.

Sorry for the Arithemetic lesson on Fractions. But some people seem to forget that "Math is the language of Science" & "Arithemetic is baby math". (people who don't speak American English use 'maths' where Americans use 'math' to mean the same thing. There are lots of math, but basically one arithemetic.

application: When one temperature is divided by the denominator of a all the weather stations - the contribution of readilng is very small. Global warming usually averages Millions of weather points for 365 days. One temperature reading does not make for any useful measure of Global Warming or not.

Wednesday morning at about 4AM (9 Feb 2011) a new all time record for a Oklahoma tempertrue was set: -31°F (-36°C). The old record set in 1906 and again in 1930 was -27°F. The location of the new reading was "Lottawattar' (short pun for Lot o' Water, or Lot of Water). I wonder if we will change the name now to "FrozenWatta"?

Well, I for one feel for poor Piltdown Man, who has been ridiculed as a fraud and a hoax for about a hundred years now. I even wrote the outline for a musical theater piece (Quest for Plastic) to dramatize the pathos of his fate. Now I just need some catchy tunes and lyrics. Also, I thought it was Teilhard de Chardin who was supposed to have been behind the alleged hoax.
