Turns out the Cantor bullet was a random stray bullet so not in the same category (). Some Republicans have received hateful messages as well as civility and reasonable discourse has been hurt by both sides. But the outbreak against Democrats who voted for this legislation seems to be reaching a even more disturbing level.

My recollection is that when similar acts of domestic terror were going on here in Seattle (the , during the Clinton administration), my recollection is that the cops were indeed out in force. I received some teargas from unidentified Darth-Vader-hooded terrorists-in-the-employ-[I-presume]-of-my-government that time around, and I hadn't engaged in any terror myself, had just come from a legal Steelworkers' rally and was just trying to get home. As far as I know, none of the police response was particularly targeted towards , it was all apparently aimed at coercing political speech of the mouth-and-voice variety.
