in Alabama is about to become Absurd; go further around the Bend; even Gees Bend.

One would hope the back to back visits of Martin Marty at SAmford and Hauerwas at Bham Southern would bring in a Renaissance of Political Sanity.

But with Joe Godfrey on one hand, and a foggy editor of the Alabama Baptist on the other; hard for Jim Evans, Flynt and Alarise to gain enough traction to bring in the promise of Judge Frank Johnson, Hugo Black and MLKing. The Bama Petri Dish is not working.

John Killian is my friend, but when you have George Wallace Jr and Judge Roy Moore on same flatbed on same afternoon with speeches against Constitutional and Immigration REform; where's the Hope?

My friend Brent McDougal is leaving Bama CBF to go to Pastorate in Dallas Texas. As a student of Wallace's biographer Dan Carter at Emory, McDougal was another promising bright light for the state, to help translate the common good to the hamlets and villages throughout.

I don't know.

Ed Kilgore at tnr.com is aware of the dynamics and the Anniston STar continues to make sense but who's to say.
