A Word of Thanks

Postby Bruce Gourley » Wed Feb 10, 2010 3:22 pm

I just want to voice a personal word of thanks to those using this forum, for moving our ongoing political and public policy discussions into this forum. A number of users have expressed appreciation to me for this new arrangement.

Bruce: If a thread started on another forum, should we continue it over there (for continuity, and easy reference to previous comments)?

Actually, it's fairly easy to link from a thread elsewhere to one here (or vice versa). I would say as a matter of principle it would be good to put politically argumentative comments (unless they also have clear Baptist (or ABC, CBF, SBC or Weight-Loss) content as well) here, with a link, like this. A reciprocal link can be added to facilitate access to the prior argumentation.

Have you got a suggestion as to how to remember this formula? e.g. bracket url equal mark http slashes forums, etc.?

You pretty much gave the instructions there yourself, Chris. Just highlight the part of your typing that you want to be the link, and then click on the URL button. Then, after the [url and before the ], type an equal sign followed by the entire URL you want to link to, then the closing ] so that the whole thing basically goes (removing spaces in the parts within [ ]'s - use "Preview" to make sure you did it right before Submit-ting):

[ url = http: // forums.baptistlife.com/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=830 ]Fox's Profile[ /url ] which with the spaces removed will yield
