Getting rid of ISIS would have been a much more difficult prospect has it not been for the support of the Kurds. The military forces with the boots on the ground that fought ISIS literally street by street, block by block in the cities like Mosul and Al Raqqah were largely made up of Kurdish soldiers. Yes, they had US support, some US military presence but the whole strategy that was put in place by President Obama, with the Kurds largely at the center of it and which was well underway when he left office was kept in place under Brett McGurk. That was one thing early Trump military advisors succeeded in doing, keeping him from recklessly kicking that strategy over and doing his own thing while the strategy in place was working. Of course, the inept and incompetence crept in as the military advisors left over Trump's stupidity and initial announcement he was pulling troops out of Syria in 2018. That's when Mad Dog Mattis stormed out and McGurk resigned. Though he backed off then because there were still people around who slapped his hand and said no, he let a Muslim leader talk him into supporting Turkey's interests. So ends all the griping, whining and lip flapping of conservatives who played the holy horror game when President Obama greeted the Saudi crown prince with a bow. Trump is groveling because he has business interests in Istanbul, his building there has two towers, not just one. Yep, that's on the record.

Trump left Clinton in the dust on impeachable offenses when the Mueller report came out. Ukraine and now all of this is surpassing the corruption record set by Nixon. Just pick the offense that's likely to get the most Senate votes to throw him out. The voters are going to do it in November 2020 anyway.
And this Turkish invasion is more than likely going to be the catalyst that puts an end to the thousands of years of Christian presence in Syria. Trump's insistence on closing off the border to Syrian refugees cut the lifeline for thousands of Christians who had connections and the ability to produce the necessary documents to come to the US during the civil war. The "godless liberals" in Canada have provided most of the safe havens for middle eastern Christians who could get out. Maybe they didn't sign the right doctrinal statement or something.
