I'm expecting he'll go the "emergency declaration" route. That'll wind up in the courts where his argument may not get much traction due to his tweets proclaiming his homeland security department as the best there ever was at preventing illegal border crossings and shutting down the drug trade which flies in the face of there being a crisis at the border. He'll have to pay off a judge somehow to get a favorable ruling on that.
Trump and his inner circle of advisors cannot seem to get a grasp on reality. They just lost a landslide election on top of a string of special elections at both the state and federal level. The Democrats aren't going to buckle and run, especially not on an issue where virtually every public opinion poll shows them holding a ten point or better lead over him on it. His publicly broadcast statement from the meeting with Chuck and Nancy where he said he would take all of the blame for the government shutdown in order to get his wall can't be taken back. The backlash from that statement scared a lot of Republicans in the senate, especially those up for re-election next round. And if, as Lindsay Graham says, his presidency rests completely on whether or not he gets this wall, then he is far more inept, incompetent and genuinely stupid politician than his opponents could imagine.
