I have no idea how the midterms will end but they will end and we will live with the outcome for the next two years, at least.

If it is a repeat of 2016 like the one thought to be a loser ended being the winner where do you relocate to? Canada?

I am praying for a Republican majority in Senate and House and hope that such will bring at least one more conservative Justice to the SCOTUS bench.

Then again, I don't have a lot to retire on so if the government turns to the socialist agenda win, maybe I can get in line for that needed surgery and all of you can help pay for it. Then my GKids can go to college free. I can stand in line to buy bread - if the stores have it this week.

Been to too many countries destroyed by socialism - would hate to see this happen to the best place to live in the world. You can hate Trump but I do think a wise man would hate socialism more.

The confusion and conflation of two (or actually more) wildly disparate sorts of socialism is a widespread phenomenon. Large large numbers from the center to the far right fringes do it. I've been in the Soviet Union, and there was something to the "if they have bread this week" bit there, at least in the Brezhnev years. But the closest any American political forces have come to "socialism" is a lot closer to Sweden than to Soviet Russia. And I remember cars lined up for gas when they weren't at all sure there'd be any by the time they reached the pump, and that was in a non-socialist USA. Of course, I am getting old. But so is this one-size-fits-all use of the word "socialism".
