He believes that if he gets Kavanah on the SCOTUS, then he cannot be held legally accountable. In his world. obstruction doesn't exist.

His actions, and those of his surrogates on his behalf are almost better indicators of his guilt than the evidence they've gathered will be. If you're innocent, and you know it, you don't take these kinds of risks and go to these lengths to stop an investigation in progress. You walk in, subject yourself to testimony, bring your evidence and walk out smiling. You leave it all alone, let them do their work.

I can't. And Mueller can't impeach, but he can certainly conduct an investigation which points to the need for it. Looks to me like Trump's reactions are, as you often like to say, "tinfoil hat stuff."

I hate to sound like Faux News, but I am beginning to think Mueller doesnt have anything on Trump. We should have known by now.

The ex-CIA guy whose clearance he recently revoked... Trump went on Twitter to accuse him of being like John Dean, an accusation that has the corollary of making himself out to be like Nixon. Funny.

Not many leaks out of the investigation, though we actually do know a lot, based on whose been indicted and whose cut a deal, and how Trump has revealed the issue by his frenetic tweeting.

Ed: We have learned a lot but little about what Muller was appointed to investigate. Russia's Interference with the 2016 U.S. Presidential election.

The Mueller investigation has been going on barely more than a year. I think it is too early to tell. Mueller is known for being very careful. If he has anything on the President, he won't show his hand until he is sure he has all the necessary proof.

The President complains that Sessions "never took control of his Department", and complains about the Mueller "witch hunt", but you know who is in a position to replace those two? Yep. Who didn't take control? And maybe when you clear out a swamp you attract witches. As far as a replacement for Sessions, how about Stormy? She and Trump already have a sort of relationship that could turn into tweetstorms quite readily. And maybe she's be willing to fire her lawyer (who is looking to run for Trump's seat) in exchange for a cabinet position.

I know, it's risky, hopefully he doesn't read BaptistLife.

Mueller was not appointed to investigate Russia's interference with the 2016 US Presidential election. That was already an established fact. He was appointed to investigate whether Trump's firing of James Comey during an investigation by the FBI into Trump's and his campaign's involvement with the Russian interference was an obstruction of justice. The FBI and CIA already had most of that evidence in hand. What has transpired so far is the other stuff they've discovered about Trump's close associates which was going on at the time, and was also illegal, has led to indictments, convictions and guilty pleas, along with several immunity deals.
