BUT... Only God could have "preordained" that I would become a Moderator on bl.com.

I volunteered to take Keith's role. If you are not aware, Keith and I are not of the same political (and theological) mindset on most things.

I believe everyone here regularly knows me. Some from the very beginning of the current forum and some from the one we used prior. I think it was sbcnet (or something similar).

I do ask that we keep the discussions away from personal attacks - of those posting and those who do not post. Politics can get us very wound up but let us cool off before we submit something that would not honor God. Passionate disagreement is fine. Personal insults are not.

Welcome to an unusually "Moderate" position, Jon, and welcome to the small coterie of actual Moderators here. I think you'll do pretty well. In any event, I have no doubt that in some sense your achieving this distinction was ordained before the creation of the world. Does that make me one too? Maybe I'd better change it to read "little" doubt.

Jon, welcome to the fun and frustration of being a moderator. Actually, most of the time, I have found it fun and rewarding. The people are what make it interesting, and I'm glad there are those who challenge all of us because I have yet to learn much from people who agree with me all the time. Glad you are going to share in this.

I confess when I read the thread title I thought to myself "I wonder what Bruce could have done to make someone think he is a Calvinist?" Jon, congratulations on being made a moderator. Like most things in life, this may be both a blessing and a curse. I look forward to seeing the future threads - from someone who is a full on Calvinist, without apology.
