One of the differences between us that I suspect has its roots someplace other than party politics (though I could be wrong) or theology: I cannot imagine living for years (let alone pastoring a church) in the Emirates without learning Arabic. At least well enough to know "Merry Christmas" when I see it. Do you think people who live in the US for years should learn English?

When you say "the masses" I assume you mean the foreigners who I hear constitute the majority of the population. What about the native population? Do most of them use English most of the time, too, or only when dealing with foreigners?

Thanks, Jon. This sort of stuff is very interesting to me.
As would be an Arabic hymnal of a Protestant persuasion, with music. Do you know of such?
