Does Collinsville's Casey Mattox work for a hate group
Posted: Fri Sep 01, 2017 5:32 pmCollinsville went to UVA with two of the pastors kids from CHS, and was high school classmate and good friend of a fourth who went to Duke and befriended Willlimon.
Here are some comments I just placed on the facebook wall of Alliance Defending Freedom
I know Casey to be a never Trumper, but in high school he was adamant the Civil War was about States Rights, more than slavery. That puts his view as a UVA grad in the minority in Charlottesville Va. Also Casey and the ADF have a lot of explaining to do in regard Frances Fitzgerald's chapters in How Evangelicals Shaped America, not to mention the origin story of the ADF and its connections to the leadership and political strategists in the fundamentalist takeover of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Stephen M. Fox Casey Mattox was raised in a Southern Baptist Church in Collinsville, Alabama. I have known Casey since he was in the 6th grade. Recently the SPLC as Tucker Carlson noted last night on Fox News named ADF and Casey Mattox with Coral Gables PCA church and others as hate groups. The recent statement on Gays by the Nashville Group, mostly Southern Baptist is the latest defining point in the culture wars.
