Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Bill O'Reilly, are Fox News commentators, not journalists. They fall into the same category as Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and other talk show wanabees whose craft is to play to the biases and prejudices of their potential audiences. They benefit from continuing to push the line that the mainstream media has a liberal bias, and they are the ones capable of providing balance. The problem is that the mainstream media journalists go get the facts, and that a negative report about a conservative politician is not a sign of bias. But most conservatives have let themselves be incorrectly convinced that a negative story is a negative spin, and that the mainstream media always reports negatives, never positives, about conservatives, in spite of all kinds of evidence to the contrary. And they can't distinguish between editorial commentary and truth. So they are susceptible to having their prejudices and biases stroked. So there's a lot of fiction, because it generates enough ratings in the media markets to make the commentators rich, which is the bottom line. They couldn't care less about people's opinions, their values, or the country, they care about stuffing their checkbook and they will come up with the wildest, most ridiculous and ludircrous fiction to accomplieh their ends.
