Will anyone pay attention to Biden’s program to combat cancer? Will Congress Act to add financial support to in the cancer fight (which stands at $5.21/year)??



Cancers kills over 600,000 Americans a year, even more than gun deaths (~280,000/year) and over 4 orders of magnitude more than Americans killed due to terrorism (<60/year). The War on Terrorism consumes probably more when you consider the DoD budget supporting anti-terrorism.

It seems to me that when retaliation is in the air, the air waves are full of stories, angry words from the populace are plentiful, and funding gets approved. But when sickness is in the air, little is made public and funding is relatively small. Exactly the opposite of Jesus who taught us not to retaliate and taught us to help the sick.

I'm sure there's media attention for it somewhere. Whether it makes it to the "top 10 news stories" or not is another matter. It's not a sexy enough topic to keep people tuning in like folks shooting each other or beating up each other or confronting police. Unlike the space program, folks aren't going to tune in to watch the latest lab test - as opposed to a rocket launch.

As for the money, well, he can propose 100 gazillion billion quadrillion dollars or whatever. What does he have to worry about? He's not writing the check and won't be footing any of it.

BTW, where in the world did you get gun deaths of 280,000??? I'm guessing that's a typo and you mean 28,000.
