I'm expecting to see some kind of effort, not specifically sure of what, but something, to attempt to prevent Trump from coming away from Cleveland with the nomination. I've seen various postings, mostly on social media, that claim the delegates can be released from being "bound" and can nominate from the floor and elect whom they please. Presumably, that would be Cruz, since his people apparently have controlled delegate selection processes in an awful lot of states. They certainly did here. Will they dump Trump to field a nominee who can beat Clinton? I wouldn't be surprised at that, nor would I be surprised to see a Republican establishment candidate run third party. Supposedly Romney is ready to do so.

Clinton is widening her poll lead, now 49-37 in the NBC poll that was just two points apart three weeks ago. The problem Donald has is that there are still five months to go before the election, and he will have done a lot more speaking and commenting by then.

The responses I received on Facebook were heartening in the sense that only one person of those who said they are voting for Trump actually defended the man. Everyone else expressed their vote as a choice between two undesirable options, and in opposition to Clinton (although I don't see how anyone can objectively say that Clinton is worse than Trump).

I have talked recently with a couple of Trump people who are seeming to spend their time attacking all who question Trump. They seem to have bought his method of blaming anyone who questions anything about his stands or his actions.

The editor of the New Yorker, who wrote a sterling biography of Obama, makes the best case against Trump. Its an easy google. Bruce I hope you continue to participate in this conversation. Im in a big fight with the Southern Torch in NE bama in what could be the last vestige of my churching in my Mothers hometown.

Country is in a mess. For what its worth Obama was beautiful yesterday.

Talked to a young woman today from Macon who told me she has ridden by the Allman Brothers house but was unaware Gregg had gotten honorary doc from Mercer where her sister goes.

Also talked to a football player from Auburn who is gonna have some conversations at home about Mike Hubbard

I got the information from the NBC poll, 49 to 37, from MSNBC, both Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow last night. Normally, if they don't reference a source, they use the NBC numbers. Can't find on their websites what poll they cited.

Update, they did cite the Bloomberg poll, but put the MSNBC logo at the bottom of the screen.
