Because Stephen never met a link that he thought worthy of excerpting, discussing, commenting on. His posts are designed to do two things only, (1) demonstrate his pseudo-intellectualism to the rest of us, and (2) give us reading assignments. We learned this long, long ago; hence, comments and discussions are superfluous.

No pseudo intellectual here, Thornton, just don't have a lot of time to potty train lot of remedial conversations on this board. If someone reads a link and makes an interesting point, I'm engaged more often than not.

But don't get your feelings hurt, I continue to be ecstatic to call you a friend. One of a few folks I know who knows the name of Marshall Frady's father; the other two, unlike us, really are intellectuals, reputably published. I need to check your blog. haven't done so recently. Is Jerry Vines, one of the "Great Minds" of the 20 th century still perusing?

Norm Ornstein has been the Gospel for me the last three years or so, and as a conservative with the AEI he lays the weight of the blame for whatever is wrong with America the last several years at the feet of the Tea Party.

So the non-Tea-Party Republican Party will split into those who go with Trump to save themselves from the Tea Party, and those who go with the Tea Party to save themselves from Trump. And it may take awhile to get back to all-American Two-Partyism.
