Very self-fulfilling. The goal of terror is never to win a war but to strike fear into those who hear about their few successful forays.

Come on people and think on this DATA - look up 2 posts for all sources. 8 Americans killed per year by terrorists (most of those overseas) and 584,881 Americans die per year due to cancer. Yet we spend 14 times as much on the War on Terror than we do on the War on Cancer.

It would be refreshing if the news media and the politicians would refocus their priorities.

Perhaps consideration of fear pandering on global warming could be inserted here.

Americans are all askew when it comes to risk evaluation and this is nothing new.

Oh Lordy, can we not turn another thread into a global climate change debate? It derails most any conversation here.

Right now I'm more worried about the immediate danger of a world with Donal Trump as President. Please GOP come up with someone else! Lindsey Graham is right about this. The GOP would be better off to pick someone out of the phone book than Trump.

I realize that I believe that he isn't likely to win a general election. But a major political party shouldn't even be risking the nation by giving him a shot at being on the general election ballot.

Watching Palin endorse him was one of the craziest things I've ever seen in politics. She didn't even make sense. She couldn't even string together coherent sentences. And Trumps trumpeters ate it up.

As a Bernie type from the gate, I've always thought the two parties (the party powers-that-be, not the voters) looked a lot like the Bloods and the Crips. Whiter and less bloodthirsty, but still basically in it to split the loot.
