2015 Likely to be Hottest Ever

Fabricated?? Collusion?? Even when 4 independent groups measure the same temperature rise (about a 0.9C since 1910)??



and another independent effort () by initially “skeptical” Richard and Elizabeth Muller (funded by the Koch brothers) confirmed the air temperature records of these 4 sources?? Also showing a 0.9C rise since 1910. Not only is temperature rise about the same but the trends are ver similar- a flattening from 1940 to 1976 and reduced slope (the so-called “hiatus”) from 1997 until 2014. In 2015 it is rising again, not shown on this chart but well known - follow the 2015 data ) and )


Now admittedly, these 4/5 sources use some of the same data sets (Ground-Based thermometer-based measurements administered by UK’s Hadley Center and USHCN). But the satellite data set (UAH’s MSU/AMSU) is wholly independent from the ground-based measurements and they agree quite well for trends and the larger (non-noise) peaks/valleys.

Here is the satellite data (all of it since 1979, not just 1997-2014 as David is fond of showing just leaving out 1979-1997 because it is low) using David’s favorite “skeptic" Roy Spencer. It’s data shows a 0.42C rise since 1979 to Dec 2014 (ends of red line - 13 month average).


This agrees quite well with the BEST data (ground-based thermometers) plotted since 1980 (about a 0.35C increase from 1980 until 2014 - black line; in all likelihood will be higher in 2015).


So even the ground-based and satellite-based GW air temp data (independently measured) have very similar peaks (1988, 1991, 1998, 2010, 2015) and valleys (1985, 1989,1993, 2008, 2012) and overall temperature rise data (and they all are are rising).

I guess Roy Spencer has to be in on the “collusion”????

Another look at how much 2015 is above other years in temperature anomaly. This is the ground-based ground level measurement data as processed by NOAA with baseline set as the 20th century (i.e. 1900-2000). Note that if this El Nino trend continues until December, 2015 will be about 0.1C higher than previous high year 2014. All climatologists including John Christy believes that El Nino will continue into 2016.



and is consistent with this projection (big red star) by John Abraham off of the NASA/GISS measured data posted earlier with baseline being 1951-1980 (as is GISS’s custom).
