It is really a sad day for America if Donald Trump can be leading the GOP field.

Early numbers. Trump's campaign is probably not going to pay much attention to the polls at any point, really, because he has the money he needs to stay in all the way to the convention. What the numbers indicate is that there is a very defined, and very clear conflict in the Republican party, and the establishment represented by candidates like Jeb Bush and Lindsay Graham, and long-standing politicians like John McCain and John Boehner, are not all that popular, even within their own party, and are going to have an uphill climb to the nomination. It more or less gives a lot of credence to the idea that the US Government is now virtually completely vulnerable to being purchased by corporate interests. If Trump, or someone else who is essentially a bought-and-paid-for candidate by the Koch brothers or one of the other monopoly capitalists gets the Presidency, God help us. Then we really will need a grass-roots movement to "take America back" because we will be living under a dictatorship without any moral compass or values.

On the other hand, I would guess that recent GOP polling data, even Faux News, showing Trump's lead, is a source of heart warming joy for the Hillary Clinton campaign.

I'd consider sending Trump a campaign donation in order to help Hilary Clinton get elected if Trump wasn't such a rich bag of wind.

There is a lot indistinguishable between the rhetoric of Trump and the demagoguery Rogers, Vines, Pressler and Albert Lee Smith not to mention the blowhard Criswell used in the fundamentalist takeover of the Southern Baptist Convention.
