This article mentions the Southern Strategy. For me it is the part of Nixon's legacy that had tremendous implications for the fundamentalist takeover of the Southern Baptist Convention. In early 90s I tried to get Harry Dent up from Columbia SC to engage James Dunn during the pastors school at Furman. Dunn wasn't very hapy with me and over the years I have a greater appreciation for his displeasure.
