Having been out of town most of the week at the annual conference of the Academy of Parish Clergy I missed a lot of discussion in this thread.
I appreciate Sandy's view that the issue of genetics or choice (while he and I may disagree on the factors involved) doesn't mean that all people shouldn't be treated fairly without discrimination in a free society.
I also agreed strongly with Sandy's interpretation of the laws for business and non-discrimination versus an individuals religious beliefs. That is what the RFRA discussion is about, not if you think homosexuality is genetic or not. After all don't we all choose our religion? Yet none of us would be for anyone being discriminated based on the fact that we are all part of a the Christian religion, something that is entirely a choice. (Unless you happen to be a hyper-calvinist. )
