Fifty-five years of the current policy doesn't seem to have worked, but the GOP seems to believe that if we just give our policy another fifty-five years, it will work.

If it had occurred under Reagan, or one of the Bushes, it would be hailed as a stroke of diplomatic genius. The Republicans just don't want a list of accomplishments to go along with the Obama Presidency. This attitude and posture is already leading them down a path of self-destruction, and some of their recently elected Senators are doing a great job of setting up the 2016 elections for Hillary to have a party in control of both houses when she is overwhelmingly elected President.

We'll see, Sandy. But I must admit I don't see how a hard line on Cuba will help them much if any. The people who lost their homes to Castro are mostly dead now, and their kids grew up in the USA, not in the Gaza Strip or South Lebanon.
