You're getting worked up over tax breaks - at least per your chart - that don't expire for 3 more years? That means they can be renewed in 2015, 2016 or 2017. Or new ones can be created to replace them in 2015, 2016 or 2017. Or they can be painted orange and tied to a stick to lead voters to the polls in 2016.

What good are all these tax deductions if they don't buy you the voters and votes you want?

I keep hearing the argument that the rich are the job creators. Where is that happening? What I see is the buying of stock or the investing in real estate. When are the jobs coming from these "job creators?"

The rich, as a class, are job creators only when they need to create jobs in order to create wealth. Their real function is not job creation but wealth accumulation. When it is possible to create wealth without creating jobs, that will be to them the more desirable route to go, as jobs/workers cost money, reducing the total amount of wealth available to be skimmed off and accumulated.

This is ridiculous. This country is in need of a serious tax law overhaul. Consumption tax to replace the income tax or a flat tax or slightly progressive flat tax with only a handful of deductions, if even a handful.

The U.S. tax code has long ceased to be a reasonable means to raise revenue to fund government functions. It's largely a means for social engineering and is regularly used by politicians for their own gain and desire to hold onto their power. They'll exploit rich and poor, businesses and individuals alike to do so and throw around all sorts of rhetorical nonsense that has no connection to sound tax policy.
