Mississippi may add to Democrats senate majority

Thad Cochran and Chris McDaniel are in a neck and neck race in the GOP primary for Cochran's senate seat. I'm genuinely sorry for Cochran, since he seems to be a reasonable, thinking Republican as opposed to McDaniel, who is an extremist nut case. Cochran is conservative, but not an extremist. (Haven't seen Stephen drop his name, even though he's an active Southern Baptist church member.) It seems incredible, but the polls are showing that if McDaniel takes the primary, the Democrat will win the seat. I don't think Mississippi was one of the states the Democrats were counting on winning a senate seat, but thanks to the tea party, it is a very real possibility.

West Virginia might also be an interesting place to watch. Tea partiers and establishment Republicans got into a fight today at a speech by the GOP senate candidate who is trying to appease both groups. Pretty funny.

Seems like the tea party extremist sore loser McDaniel can't accept the fact that a majority of Republicans in the state don't want his extremist, cockeyed, stupid views in the Senate, representing their state, nor can some of his fellow tea idiots accept the election results, and are forwarding him money to challenge the results. THey are going to wind up making sure that a Democrat gets that seat.

Of course, Ted Cruz is behind the challenge. These are people to whom the will of the people, and their votes, don't matter much. They are behind voter suppression legislation, and now they are challenging the results of an election in which a clear majority of voters expressed the desire that they don't want someone like McDaniel representing them. They can't work within a democratic republic, because they can't accept the results of an election.

If it winds up in court, it could mean that there would not be a Republican candidate on the ballot, and the Democrat would win by default. GOP hopes of gaining ground in the senate were focused on Mark Pryor in Arkansas, who, as "the most vulnerable Democrat in the Senate," now has a comfortable lead over his tea idiot opponent. Mississippi wasn't on the radar screen. But Cruz seems to be more bent on subverting the will of the voters than gaining a seat in the Senate.
