And it was, ironically, a Republican Senator, John McCain, who came up with a campaign finance reform plan that would essentially have eliminated PACs from the equation, by restricting contributions from individual businesses, groups and corporations. It is also ironic that major contributors and pacs include a casino owner, a beer distributor and an agriculture-chemical industry conglomerate whose chief export is American jobs and currency, and who pays a tiny fraction of taxes on the hundred billion dollar profit they take in each year because of loopholes that let them keep their financial dealings in Switzerland. All good Republicans and flag waving, "apple pie and mom" Americans, I am sure. I have to wonder which of the five conservative Supreme Court justices has the most invested in those companies, to keep rendering rulings which no court prior to this one would ever have considered constitutional by any judicial or moral standard.
