Seems like the scientific data that Keith has posted sounds like the results of an experiment in which the hypothesis has been tested, and proven.
I remember a college professor in a meteorology class years ago talking about hypotheses related to global warming including the shifting of sea ice around the continent of Antarctica, making it more difficult to access the land based polar region because the ice shelves would be less predictable, softening, breaking off, repositioning, and spreading out over a larger area. Same for the iceberg hazard in the North Atlantic, which is a documented fact by shipping companies and cruise lines. The "wobble" of the northern "polar vortex" was also part of the evidence, pulling Arctic air masses down into both the North American and Mid-Asian continents, causing winter-like weather conditions further south. That has happened several times in the past couple of decades, a few years ago in Asia, this year in North America.
The fact that the research ship was stranded in a place that had previously been mapped and documented as an area that was relatively stable is, in and of itself, proof of the hypotheses that have been put forward by those who believe that we are experiencing Global Warming. The American rescue vessel, the Polar Star, was refitted and renovated precisely because of the hypotheses that were put forward, since such rescues were anticipated as global warming made the Antarctic ice less predictable and the difficulty of keeping the research stations in Antarctica supplied would require a new style of icebreakers. Looks like the whole incident completely dismantles the denialist argument.
