Since the issue of the US invading and doing something to Iran is rooted in its support for Israel, and influenced by belief among some conservative evangelicals that there is a prophetic scenario left to play out here, I tried to find a Christian perspective on this. The closest I got was the Sun Myung Moon owned Washington Times, which most conservatives consider an inerrant, infallible news source, though they believe its owner is a hell bound cultist.

I guess a "tactical nuclear attack" which would result in the deaths of thousands of civilians, including children, and the impoverishment and ruin of an entire country is perfectly acceptable behavior for the United States, since it would accomplish something Israel has been pushing us to do for a long time, eliminating one of their biggest perceived enemies. Morality, from a Republican perspective, can certainly change to accommodate murder if it is for a just cause, which they seem to think this is.

There's an even more direct connection to Biblical prophecy in that Tim LaHaye, of "Left Behind" fame, pastors a church in Hunter's district, where he attends.

Interesting to note, though he is identified as a conservative and has made several appearances to hook himself up with the tea party, Hunter is one of Congress' biggest pork barrel representatives, through his presence on the armed services committee. He manages to get major defense spending to happen in his district.

So much for just war theorists. Just "nuke 'em til they glow."
