There is no doubt a anti-semantic element in the world in the past and somewhat today. But 2 things:
1) There are other groups of people who have been hated (or treating as second/third class people) as well. Blacks, “illegal” immigrants, gypsies, NA Indians (immigrants to America during the takeover of NA), French (back just a few years), tax collectors, overpaid CEOs, lawyers .....
2) The cry of anti-semantism cannot be used as a rejoinder to those of us who feel the present day Israelis are oppressing the Palestinians big time. Why the US winks at this is beyond me.
