.
Students represented six candidates supposedly doing their best to represent the viewpoint of who they were assigned. They did not identify who they were representing as the debate occurred. The audience voted and only after they voted were the identities of who they represented announced.
The results:
First Place: Rocky Anderson, 57.6%
Second Place: Mitt Romney, 15.4%
Third Place: Jill Stein, 11.5%
T-Fourth Place: Gary Johnson, 7.7%
T-Fourth Place: Barack Obama, 7.7%
Sixth Place: Virgil Goode, 0%
That would be a landslide.
It may mean nothing more than Rocky’s stand-in was a better debater or that Rocky’s ideas resonates with young collegiates. But I think it also could mean Rocky’s positions are more popular when party labels are removed and that third Party candidates can compete when given a fair hearing.
