Some Reasons not to waste one's time watching the debates:
First, because none of these questions and the issues they raise will be dealt with responsibly, clearly, honestly, etc. How many times have we heard a candidate receive a worthy question and go in an entirely different direction, saying what they came to talk about, and ignoring what was asked?
Again, I'm not sure any candidate could answer these questions fully in a couple of minutes, and that's all they're allotted. So they deliver well-rehearsed sound bites instead of complex, thoughtful, nuanced responses--if they even attempt to answer what was asked. If they seriously tried, the crowd would get restless, because they want simple black and white answers delivered without any hint of grey.
Further, both sides are more interested in seeing how many sound bites they can score to make the other look bad than they are interested in addressing the issues that need to be addressed.
Lastly, like most voters, I have read and heard more than enough to decide my vote. I don't believe anything new will be said there to change that vote. It's all been said already, and this will simply rehash it again.
Call me a pessimist, I say I'm a realist on this one.

PS: And then, there's the fact that I don't watch any of the 24 hour news networks or much of anything else on TV, so I already have better ways to spend my time on most evenings.
