Interesting article. Not well written, and it doesn't have a lot of substantiation or supporting evidence, but interesting nonetheless. I think the point is to bash the Obama administration for borrowing from China and increasing the debt, but what they do cite are policies which go back to Reagan, Bush I and Bush II related to trade agreements with China that essentially transferred millions of manufacturing jobs in the US to China, and other third world countries, without any reverse accountability. As a result, there is a trade deficit. There are many goods manufactured in China, and in other Third World Countries, that are no longer manufactured in the US, and they place high taxes on US manufactured goods sold in their countries.
It is the Republican party that is keeping this going, not the Obama Administration. Clinton made some inroads into it, but when Bush took office, the billionaires who bankrolled his election fixed it so that they continue to profit from it, while the American middle class disappears. They are balancing their profits on the backs of cheap, third world labor, and they want to make certain that they are never obligated to pay the kind of wages Americans deserve for their work. A group of these elitist billionaires are meeting in Utah this week to see if they can come up with some kind of strategy to get around the limits of campaign finance to pour billions of dollars into duping the American people into electing one of their own, Mitt Romney, to the Presidency. Romney's election would spell the end of the American middle class, and the American economy as we know it. This article inadvertently demonstrates how much damage Republican economics has already done, and what will happen if Mitt Romney is elected.
It is hard for me to believe that people who have developed a Christian conscience, like many of the leaders of the religious right claim to have done, can support the kind of unethical manipulation, lying, cheating and outright stealing that is represented by that group of individuals gathering in Utah this weekend. Apparently, many religious right leaders are also bought and paid for, and have traded their birthright for a bowl of soup. So here's this group, meeting in Utah, trying to buy the presidency of the United States, or at the very least, to subvert the democratic process, since it appears likely that their candidate is probably going to lose the election. How can you support that and call yourself a Christian?
