Socialists don't even agree on what socialism means and they never have. Perhaps you guys should just talk about specifically what policies you're referring to instead of trying to communicate using a meaningless word.

Charity is not charity if it is mandated by Law. Socialism kills charity in the hearts men. Charity comes from the heart it is not something forced from the wallet.
That's the cold indifference that took over in the soviet union, and in national socialist Germany.
Don't look to your fellow man, look to the all powerful, all providing State.

I don't believe viscosity is the word you needed there. Viscosity is an internal state of that which is flowing. It seems the problem to witch you allude (monies not getting from the top to the bottom of society in our economy) is two fold, porosity ( lose structure with no defined channel) and absorption is (the total demand for all final marketed goods and services by all economic agents resident in an economy, regardless of the origin of the goods and services themselves.)

Ed, analogy is not necessarily misuse. When I read that sort of stuff I consider it obviously analogous use. When you read it, do you consider it obviously literal? I should have thought your hermeneutics would have cured you of that sort of reading.
