I find the report interesting. I'm not certain how Patterson fits in this since he is normally a militant and even militaristic personality. It is certainly an interesting set of developments.

I suspect that Paige Patterson's alliance with the notion of Anabaptism has more to do with its opposition to Calvinism than with anything to do with peace; much like fundamentalist and evangelical Protestant Christians who line up behind Santorum in the presidential sweeps, not because they agree with pre-Vatican-II Catholicism's views on church and state, but because they want to oppose Mormonism or because he's so staunchly anti-gay.

I think kids are better off with loving, caring, intelligent, competent parents than with unloving, uncaring, unintelligent, incompetent ones. I think those factors so far outweigh issues of number, gender, or sexual orientation as to make the idea of blanket statements about the latter laughable in private and objectionable in public. And I'm sorry for what that says about my opinion of stupid parents.
