Baptists and War Conference

Anyone going to the conference at Southern in September? I'm planning on it and am hoping to get some of my profs to come as well.

I'm most looking forward to the plenaries by Anthony Cross, Larry Kreitzer and Maurice Dowling. I wonder if Paul Dekar would attend.

It does look interesting. Barring the gift of a million dollars, though, I can't imagine making it.

Depends on what you mean by a pacifist, doesn't it? What definition do you use? How does it overlap with or differ from "advocate or practitioner of nonviolent means of conflict resolution"? Can you imagine any Christian not being one? I mean come on, followers of the Prince of Peace...

I note there is no topic or session addressing the current Middle East War and its drain on the US economy in a time of terrible Recession!
That would be stopping preaching and going to meddling. In my view, it is total deception and robbery of the US Treasury. Most of the topics are long ago and far away rather than a prophetic voice for today.
Add another topic on the "War on Poverty" and its failure to change the poor, and it would be worth attending for me.
