Rosa Parks and Black History Month

Postby Stephen Fox » Mon Dec 27, 2010 12:11 pm

I did not know whether to place this here or in the Baptist Covenant thread but wanted to give wider notice to a book that has come across my radar in the last couple months.
Couple days before Thanksgiving I had a fascinating conversation with a fellow I have known for 20 years or so, but until the conversation did not know he was at Dexter Ave Church in Montgomery when King was preaching and Rosa Parks was in the Congregation.
A few days later by happenstance I was present at a lecture at Furman by guest lecturer Hannah Rosen talking about her likewise provocative book Terror in the Heart of Freedom.

Then I came across this book. You can read my comment submitted to this blog:

Good blog but Taylor Branch fleshes it out with his Judge Frank Johnson story.
