Bruce had an interesting piece in March Baps Today. I thought it was gonna be about Marthan Berry and Berry college but it didn't go that way. It may be the beginning of a Series. NPR Fresh Air yesterday about Tammany Hall could inflect it's direction.
One thing he didn't examine was the relationship of Woodrow Wilson to George Truett. Maybe there is no more to be known other than Wilson sent him to Europe for 6 weeks to encourage the troups during WWI. I think on the tail end of that trip. Truett drove down from D.C. to his homeplace in Hayesville, N.C. if I read Keith Durso's bio correctly.
If he goes forward, the history of Wingate Baptist Church could be good hook to explore his theme of Baptist concern for Labor during the textile strike of 1934. We'll see.
