CBF Search Committee named to Replace Vestal

Looks like good committee.

If Underwood wasn't Prez of Mercer he would be grand candidate.

Maybe Samford Provost Brad Creed would fit the bill.

Hillary Clinton if she converts

Holly Holman or Melissa Rogers
Jody Powell but he passed away four years or so ago.
I think John Pierce has the political skills but he is doing a grand job with Baps Today and I would hate to see the Baptist buzzsaw, crosshairs take him to unravelled land.

Possibly Amy Butler; don't know about her administrative skills at that level; admire her blog and reputation.

Of course Gene Scarborough and Stephen Fox are available but it would be a hard sale, sell; after we elminate the Department of Commerce and those those other two OOPS I can't think of at the moment

I am impressed with the selected people. It is a broad committee with lots of wisdom and experience.

No one can say that this committee expresses the ex-SBC "old boy network," but I'm sure someone will try.

It doesn't look like there's much of the pre-1979 SBC "good ole boy" network on it, though most of those people are older than Vestal is by now.

George Mason is chairing the committee, which means he most likely won't be a candidate for the job. Whether you know it or not, that's good news for CBF.

Committees are just as good and honest as the people who populate them.

We hope and pray they will get much input from all over and give serious consideration to any worthy candidate.

I know one of the CBF officers pretty well, and I also know a couple of the committee members. I'm pleased with what they've done in naming this committee.
